Accountant
We are a highly successful, four year old community bank located in Eastern Jackson County, Missouri. With over $50 million in assets, we are seeking an individual to provide day-to-day support for various accounting and bookkeeping functions.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Controller, this position is responsible for ensuring that essential accounting functions are maintained timely and accurately, to include, but not limited to: A/P, A/R, financial reporting and analysis, ad hoc report generation, account reconciliations & resolution, general ledger management and journal entries. Incumbent will also correspond and communicate with outside accounting/audit firms and will be involved in updating bank policies.
Major accountabilities will include:
- All accounting functions as assigned operate consistent with all GAAP, as well as bank regulatory and accreditation guidelines.
- Timely and accurate filing and retention of all financial documents, including invoices, checks, reports, contracts, leases, and related financial and accounting records.
- All financial information is captured, recorded, and posted in a timely and accurate manner at all times.
- All requests for information, including all reports, payments, and related functions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review, enter, code, process invoices, receipts, and related documents into the accounting systems
- Run reports, export information from current systems and design reporting information as requested
- Produce invoices, statements, and manage the bank’s accounts receivable function
- Solve problems, resolve disputes with external bank customers, vendors, resources.
- Manage and ensure all information systems are functioning as designed and expected. Resolve problems, work with external resources, and ensure all systems function as intended and necessary.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise with the use of computers and relevant software associated with input, analysis, retrieval and reporting of financial information. Specific previous experience with related banking software required. Prior experience utilizing Silverlake software preferred.
- Previous demonstrated knowledge and experience with bank accounting and reporting.
- Previous demonstrated success in the development and implementation of financial and accounting reports, consolidations and processes.
- Demonstrated success in the timely and accurate submission of account receivable, payable, payroll information bank reconciliations and related items.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including synthesizing and communicating complicated information in a precise, simple and accurate manner.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field.
